Mayan Indigo Blue
Mayan Indigo Blue
Mayan Indigo Blue adds depth and dimension to shadows without muddying them and is invaluable for creating water and seascapes thanks to its earthy blue-green colour. Mayan Indigo mixes beautifully with other colours and can be used in an incredible range of watercolour applications. Mayan Indigo Blue is significantly more green than Mayan Royal Blue.
Artist Notes: When used in botanical work, Mayan Indigo Blue gives leaves and plants the appearance of being in the shade and can be used to add a hint of blue to foliage.
Paint Maker’s Notes: Contemporary Mayan pigments are made in the tradition of the Mayan civilization of the Americas. Made by precipitating organic dyes onto a clay base, these hybrid pigments are non-toxic, lightfast, and permanent.
