Light Yellow Ochre
Light Yellow Ochre
Light Yellow Ochre is a natural yellow earth pigment that produces a warm, earthy yellow, and is more transparent than Lemon Ochre. A natural iron oxide, Light Yellow Ochre is compatible with all other pigments and is useful in landscapes, botanicals, wildlife, and still-life work.
Artist Notes: Light Yellow Ochre has more of a brown undertone than Lemon Ochre or Golden Ochre and is a colour reminiscent of brown sugar. One of our favourites for fall botanical studies, it also mixes interesting greens that allow for glowing undertones due to its transparency.
Paint Maker’s Notes: Yellow ochres are comprised of the same primary component, limonite, a brownish mineral that contains large amounts of iron oxide.
