Brilliant Orange
Brilliant Orange
Brilliant Orange is a vivid hue that makes an excellent substitute for toxic Cadmium Orange. This pigment has a slight yellow undertone making it wonderfully peachy when used in dilute washes. Useful in everything from illustration and still life paintings, to botanicals, wildlife and punches of colour in abstract works.
Artist Notes: Use Brilliant Orange and Quinacridone Red to create bright primary reds, or mix it with blues for a range of earthy tones.
Paint Maker’s Notes: A characteristic of this pigment is that it mixes easily with others to create a wide range of colours. Brilliant Orange is one of the most commonly used orange pigments in artist colours, and is also known as Benzimidazolone Orange.
