Cobalt Aquamarine
Cobalt Aquamarine
Cobalt Aquamarine is an intense turquoise blue-green pigment that is helpful when used to adjust the temperature of blues and greens. An excellent mixing complement, Cobalt Aquamarine is useful in landscape, seascape and botanical watercolours, and is beautiful when used full strength or in washes.
Artist Notes: Cobalt Aquamarine is a bright, clear colour invaluable for mixing greens. Combine it with Hansa Yellow for intense tropical greens or mix it with earth yellows for a range of sea greens. Cobalt Aquamarine is helpful when used to adjust the temperature of other blue and green watercolours.
Paint Maker’s Notes: Cobalt pigments come in several different shades ranging from turquoise green to deep ocean blue. These pigments were first available to artists in the early 1800s.
