Stoneground’s Gouache ~ 24 palette contains a combination of warm and cool, modern and traditional colours, as well as nine custom colours created by our in-house artists to round this palette into one perfect for an enormous range of subject matter.

Gouache is a water-based media that dries to an opaque, matte finish. Colours can be applied in layers, artists refining and defining their painting as they work. Gouache can be diluted with water and used in wet-in-wet applications in the same manner as watercolour, however the chalk content in gouache means it won’t bloom or flow like watercolour paint. Gouache is lightened by adding white and can be layered from dark to light due to its opaque nature. Colours are easily mixed with one another and can be used interchangeably with Stoneground watercolour paint.

Our Gouache ~ 24 palette contains twenty-four half pans of our handmade gouache in a hinged metal palette box. Measuring approximately 8 3/4” x 3 1/2”, this compact size is ideal for travel and plein air painting.
